Dr. Micah Hartwig aspired to be a veterinarian from a very young age. Growing up in Stillwater and then in Tulsa, OK, she was surrounded by the family cats and dogs as well as horses and cattle at her grandfather’s ranch. She was riding her own horse by the age of four. After graduating from high school in Tulsa, Dr. Hartwig attended Purdue University for her undergraduate work in Animal Science. She then returned home to Oklahoma State University to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1994 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1998.
Dr. Hartwig knew she wanted to own a veterinary practice from her first year in veterinary school, a desire that only grew stronger as she began her career in small animal medicine. After practicing for 9 years as an associate, Dr. Hartwig has taken the opportunity to realize her dream. She has developed special interests in surgery and in feline medicine.
Dr. Hartwig married her husband John in 1999, whom she met at OSU while he was completing his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. She and her husband have been blessed with two daughters, Hannah and Jessica. Family hobbies include college sporting events, outdoor activities, and horseback riding.
